Runners Tell All Linkup: My Favorite Running Gear

It's linkup time again! If you missed my post last month from the link up, check it out here. For those of you that are like, "link up? WhatchyoutalkinboutWillis?" Here's the basic gist:

"Runner's Tell All" is a monthly linkup for runners of all ages, skill levels, and experience hosted by Sunshine to the Square Inch and The Lady Okie. Each month they'll have a different topic, and you can find all the topics listed here

This month's topic is favorite running gear. I'm currently giving myself a good dose of runner's guilt because I skipped my run this morning (I slept like crap and it was SNOWING), so talking about running is just as fun.

It's hard to pick one thing that I love out of my running gear. Right now, since it's still winter here in the Great White North, I'm loving on all my winter running stuff. My favorites are probably my Under Armour ColdGear pants and long sleeve tees. The ColdGear Crew top is my go to baselayer for anything under 30 degrees:

Right now they're only offering it in black and grey, but I have it in bright pink and turquoise. Way more fun that boring grey.

The ColdGear fitted tight is a lifesaver with it's soft fleece lining on the inside. Warm enough to wear alone until about 15 degrees. Anything colder and I put on sweats over them. Plus, they're a bit longer than your typical tights.

For summer running, I love Lululemon crops. They have a special fabric that wicks away sweat and keeps them from staying stinky. Plus, they're so comfy and really like a second skin. I ran my first half marathon in my Inspire II Crops, and I just bought another pair recently. They can be spendy though, so if you're interested in winning a $30 gift card to Lululemon, participate in this link-up!!

I love these pants because they're a little longer than a typical capri length crop, they're lightweight, and they have tons of pockets. I don't often use the pockets, but it's nice to know they're there if I need them.

I have to say though, by far, my favorite running item is my Fuel Belt. I have the R20 Revenge Hydration Belt with 2 water bottles.
Mine is just basic black, but I added 2 hot pink pockets for a little more flair. This is where I hold all my "junk". MP3 player, cell phone, keys, cash, extra batteries for the MP3 player, energy chews, runner's mace....you name it. I use it for 3 mile runs, half marathons, and everything in between. If I could only chose one thing to run with, this would be it!

Make sure you visit The Lady Okie and see all the other runner's favorite products too!

  1. Thanks for sharing! I've never ran more than 13 miles, so I haven't really had a use for much gear. But I'm starting to train for marathon this fall, and I'm looking for gear like the R20 Revenge Hydration Belt. I'll definitely have to check that out!

  2. Can definitely use the cold weather suggestions with the insane winter we've had! Good luck with the Lululemon giveaway :)

    1. Ours has been ridiculous! 50+ days of negative temperatures. I draw the line around "feels like" zero. Anything less and it's the treadmill for me....which means I've been on the treadmill quite a bit this winter!

  3. I'm always concerned that a belt like that would be annoying and bounce along as I run, but maybe I need to give one a try as having water, etc would be rather useful on my longer runs.

    1. I just strap it up pretty tight. There's some movement, but not enough to annoy me. I do put the bottles in the front, rather than have them in the back. My butt kept bumping them out of the holders!

  4. Oh my! I loved those crops! If only they weren't as expensive...

  5. Hey the only thing better than running is talking about running, right? Or, maybe I should reverse those. LOL Thanks for sharing your favorite gear!

  6. I've heard the Lululemon crops are super comfy, but the price! OMG so expensive. Maybe some day :) Thanks SO much for linking up, friend!

    1. I keep an eye on their "we made too much" section. Sometimes I find good deals there, and on ebay!

  7. You've got me totally crushing on your fuelbelt! I run with a crap ton of stuff (I'm very paranoid and act like I'll never come back from a run - which is still true since I'm slooowly working on upping my mileage that one day someone will just find me passed out or hyperventilating in a ditch somewhere) so I feel like I need to take a lot of stuff with me! I currently run with a Nathan hydration belt who's little pockets are totally laughable because I can barely fit ONE thing in the little pocket, so I still have to strap on a Spibelt as well and well...running around with two belts just feels dumb! So I may have to check out that fuelbelt - and being able to add hot pink to it pretty much sold me.

    1. Now they sell it in a pink/silver color combo. I'm thinking I may need an upgrade!

  8. You pack that belt full! I'm glad it works for you and I can't run without all my 'gear' either! I need to start taking mace with me more often.

I have never purchased something from lululemon because of the price but I might need to look into their gear at some point. It sounds so good and fitted.

Thanks for linking up with us!
