This month, we're reflecting on our year of running in 2014, and setting some goals for 2015.
Pretending that I like trail races - I do not. |
2014 has been my biggest running year to date. Since it was technically only my third year of running, too, then that seems kind of natural. I went a little race crazy in 2014. My race list includes:
1. Hope Springs 5K
2. Sour Grapes 10K trail run
3. Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon
4. Red Ore Run 10K
5. Ragnar Relay (in which I learned that there is a thing as too much running)
7. Tunnel 10K
8. Rock'n'Roll St. Louis Half Marathon
9. Gobble Gallop 5K
Just shy of 10 races!
I also set some new PR's:
5K - 25:15
10K - 53:03
Half - 1:52:49
Heading towards my Half Marathon PR! |
It was a great year for me in relation to running! Although this year, I think I'm going to tone it down a bit. Just a few races. The big goal for 2015:
Run a Marathon
That's it. My one and only goal. I will do a few races along the way to help prep me for the 26.2. I already know that I'll be doing Hope Springs (free entry!), the Garry Bjorklund half (guaranteed spot!), and the Red Ore Run because it's local. Then on to the Detroit Marathon.
I have a training plan to follow. I've already booked a hotel room. It is happening.
I'm so thankful for this past year of running, which has really taught me a lot about myself. I can't wait to see what 2015 has to offer!
Come join our link up to see what the other ladies have in store for the next year!
A marathon is a great 2015 goal. I know some people who have run the Detroit Marathon. They said it was a great race!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope so!
DeleteI'm so excited that you are doing your first marathon in 2015 AND that it is the Detroit Marathon. Yippee! I think you are really going to love the race. It's organized really nicely.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious to see if you have any interest in doing a second marathon after you finish your first. It's been a year since I did my first marathon, and I still go back and forth on whether or not I will ever do a second one. For now, I'm sticking with half marathons. 13.1 seems to be my perfect race distance! Congrats on a great year of running in 2014 and cheers to another great year of running in 2015!
I will be interested in that as well! It might be a one time thing, or I could get addicted. We'll see!
DeleteWoo for new PRs! That's exciting. Here's to an awesome year of running in 2015. Thanks for being such a huge supporter of our linkup this year! Merry Christmas!
