Today's topic is the Runner's Gift List. Or, what you all can buy me for Christmas. Please take notes.
1. The first thing on my list may seem boring, but I promise you that I would rave over these if I opened them on Christmas morning:
Smartwool Outdoor socks. Seriously, these are the best socks for winter running. Warm, cushion-y, and no blisters!
2. Columbia Glacial Fleece 1/2 Zip. Another must have for me. I have 2 of these now, and use them from October to May. With a short or long sleeve tee underneath, with a vest on top, under a shell layer - this is a staple for me. I'd love to have a few more!
3. Books on running. Not necessarily "how to" books, but more inspirational stories. I love to read, so I'm always game for a book. But even non-reading runners will likely thank you for one of these titles.
Another item that looks interesting are these shoe laces. A runner-up gift, if you will. I know nothing about them because the link looks awfully spammy, but they would be nice for running in the early, dark mornings:
Safety First! I did find some on Amazon if you're actually interested. Go here.
So, what's on your running wish list? Link up and tell us about it!
I love all running related books too. I can read them over and over again, opposed to a novel.
ReplyDeleteAll of Dean Karnazes book are a great read also.
That's great to know! Honestly? I've only read Born to Run. I typically prefer fiction. But I do have all of these on my wishlist, so it's only a matter of time!
DeleteI want some of those laces!
ReplyDeleteThis year I'm giving my running friends my book! "Confessions of an Unlikely Runner (A Guide to Racing and Obstacle Courses for the Averagely Fit and Halfway Dedicated)"
It's available in print and for Kindle on amazon.com :)
Sounds interesting!
DeleteThanks for linking up with us! I love the running related stories too. Inspirational when I'm not feeling like getting out there.
ReplyDeleteEspecially in the winter when you need a good push!
DeleteA fold up stationary bike for cross training -- only I haven't had time to look into them!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've seen a fold up stationary bike - that would be great for tight spots!
DeleteA definite yes to smart wool socks !
ReplyDeleteI love me some smart wool!
DeleteThat Columbia fleece looks amazing, and I love those laces!!
ReplyDeleteI seriously love them. They are so perfect for layering with other winter running gear.
DeleteVery cool laces! And one can never have too many 1/2 zips. Never. Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteI thought they were pretty neat!
DeleteAh those laces are awesome! I just bought a couple of lights that I can clip to my shoes, clothes, etc. All of a sudden I'm super paranoid about being visible in the dark so I got a bunch of new stuff that lights up and reflects!
ReplyDeleteI just added these knuckle lights to my Amazon wishlist based of the recommendation of another blogger. I feel like you can never be lit up enough! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CZUGQ7E?colid=K2USQSW8MJ01&coliid=I3DEMQ3QD6GSSG&psc=1&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl
DeleteI do like those laces. I really need to be lit up more on my runs.
ReplyDeleteI've only read one running book, Scott Jurek's "Eat and Run" which was really good. I'll have to look at your recommendations.
I'm adding those socks and laces to my Christmas list!
