Friday Favorites

Happy Friday fellow bloggers! I'm in a good mood today. Here are some reasons:

1. Pretty Winter Wonderland Scenery:

Normally when it snows, after a day or so it just starts to look dirty and ugly. We've had some warmer weather, accompanied by one clear day and some "winter mix". Which equals hoarfrost! Ugly name, pretty in real life.

The frost has been hanging on all week, making me feel like I truly live in a Christmas movie. You know like in A Christmas Story when Ralphie wakes upon Christmas morning, opens his window, and the whole neighborhood is just quiet, calm, and frosted over in a beautiful, twinkling snow? That's kind of what it's like. My pictures don't do it justice!

2. Running Outside: with warmer weather comes the opportunity to actually run outside. Good thing, because I was just starting to get a little sick of my treadmill. I got a good 4 miles in this morning, and returned home sans icicles on any of my body parts. Huge winter running win!

3. Date Night! Travis and I are going for a turning-into-a-regular-monthly-date. This time we are going back to our favorite Caribbean restaurant, The Whistling Bird. We have a gift card, so why not? Emily is going to hang out with her Aunt, Grandma & Grandpa to help decorate their church for the Hanging of the Greens service. Good times will be had by all.

4. Weekends: We're not doing anything special this weekend, and that's totally ok. In fact, we're kind of on the downhill slide towards Christmas. I just need to wrap my gifts, which I have planned for Saturday, and get a couple of stocking stuffers. But from here to Christmas, it's pretty much all just enjoying the season. Falalalala!

What's going good in your life?

    1. It was 25 degrees this morning, compared to the 0-5 degrees we've been dealing with over the past couple of weeks. Nearly a heat wave!
